Tens of thousands come here to enjoy the snow, snowmobiling, ice fishing and lots of other activities...even a jump in the lake polar bear contest to see who is crazy enough to jump into a frozen lake...even the Queen of Tip Up Town this year said she too would dive into the frigid waters. To get an idea what this is like here is a link about TUT 2009:

This is an ideal draw for our community to help get us through the long winters. The hotel had about 75 percent occupancy and the Best Western had 100 % occupancy. Snowmobilers came here and had a lot of fun on the snow and even scooting high speed across the lake to see just how fast their machines would go.
Next week end it the rest of the event. Some people are really nice - some I wonder about. One woman when I was closing the pool for the night suggested we shut off the lights and go skinny dipping in the pool together. I guess when people come up here they leave their morals and common sense at home. Lots and lots of acohol is consumed during TUT keeping the bars busy and open, restaurants rake in money as people need to eat. Grocery stores, dollar type stores, and even Wal-mart rake in the $$$$.
I have yet to be able to go see or participate in any of these events...but the traffic sure gets crazy on our little 4 lane (2 in each direction) road running through the town.
Hope next weekend we get more people to come and enjoy the event.
