This weekends 14 hour hunt. I know I could have done better but maybe next time.:surrender:

Hello fellow treasure hunters. I am back with the finds once again. I decided to go visit my sister this weekend and also to go try a spot I had researched during the winter months. The site is still in use and has a lot of ground to cover and these finds are just the beginning of what I hope to be a site that keeps giving up some keepers for at least a few weeks, that is if I continue to go back to this site unless I decide to try some others I know about. I stopped off and seen Rick(ND) on Sunday Night on the way back home and showed him my finds for this weekend. Lets just say that he is going with this next weekend if plans don't change. The reason I used the Surrender up top is because this site was yeilding so much so fast I was almost tempted to go somewhere else do to lack of Barber and Indian Heads in the beginning. That kind of changed though but I did give up both days around 5:30pm due to having a sore knee from getting up and down so much. So, I think we will start off with the Clad Coins first. I won't post a pic of them but give you the numbers. I found 26 Quarters, 32 Dimes, 9 Nickels, and 78 Pennies. That is all the Clad I dug during the weekend that I came across for the most part maybe leaving 20 Newer Pennies (at least I think they were new:confused:). Onto the finds. For Silver this weekend I found 17. Nothing Big but maybe next time. The Silver were 2 Barber Dimes dated 1896-O (Semi-Key Date starting at $75.00 in Good with a Mintage of only 610,000) and a 1914-d with Liberty showing, 14 Mercury Dimes dated (2)1916-s,1919-d,(2)1919-s,1927,1928-s,1929,1941,1942-s,1943,1943-d, and (2)1945-d, along with 1 Roosevelt Dime dated 1946-d. I found 5 Silver on Saturday and got 12 on Sunday. I also found 2 Tokens. 1 is a Good For 5c In Trade with a town name and place on it and the other says Bally's Aladdin's Castle / The Ultimate Party Place. The Good For Token will only have the Front pictured since I do want to try and keep this site as long as I can for a select few, even though the Token is from a different town but it is near by. For Nickels, I found 4 which were 4 Jefferson Nickels dated 1939-s,1945-d (War Nickel),1948-d, and 1957-d. I will try and find the Older Nickels next time due to too many targets. I found 2 Older Canadian Pennies dated 1921 and 1955. Also 1 more '59 Lincoln surfaced as well. Also to surface were 3 Play Coins. 2 will be posted here with the other below this. The 2 here were a Play Nickel dated 1954 and a Play Quarter. That does it so far so look for the next post below to finish up this weekends hunt. Thanks for looking and Good Luck and HH. [attachment 62899 Silver.jpg][attachment 62900 TokensFront.jpg][attachment 62901 TokensBack.jpg][attachment 62904 Nickels.jpg][attachment 62906 ForeignCoinsetc.jpg][attachment 62908 PlayCoins.jpg]

This was quite a haul for you James plus the 89 Wheaties you showed me too. I believe you must be very stiff and sore today doing that much digging.
Sounds like my plans got changed for this next weekend, so I don't think I will be able to make it, but sure would love to get a couple of us there and see what we can find.

Rick

Here is the rest of the finds. Here is the other Play Coin I found that is a neat one. Both a front and back pic will be shown. It says National Heroes, John Paul Jones, 1747-1792 on the front and the back says Mazuma 10 Play Money. Thought this was a Half-Dime at first. For Indian Heads, I found 7 which were dated 1873 (Closed 3) in very bad shape,1881,1890,1891,1901,1904, and 1906. For Wheat Pennies, I found what is considered a Small Wheat Field!!! 84 Total!!!! That is correct guys! 84 Wheat Pennies. Now you know why I had a sore Knee! The dates are (3)10,11,13,13-d,(2)17,(2)17-d,17-s,(5)18,(2)18-d,(3)19,(3)19-d,(4)19-s,(3)20,(2)20-d,23-s (better Date and Mint Mark),25,25-d,26-d,(2)27-d,(2)28,28-d,(2)29,(2)29-d,(4)35-d,40,40-d,(2)40-s,(41),41-d,42,42-s,(2)44-d,44-s,45,45-d,(2)46-d,(2)47-d,48,(3)48-d,(3)49-d,50-d,50-s,(2)52-d,52-s,(2)55-d,56-d, and FINALLY 57-d. I also found a few Misc. Items along with Jewelery and such. They are 1 Sterling Silver Ring, a Parker Pen, Oshkosh B'gosh Button, Blue Air Cap, Square piece of Jewelery, a Shield type Pin, Small Pop Can with a Green Stone on it, Piece of a Old Shoe, smashed Ring with a Round Copper or Brass Ball in it (so it wouldn't roll around), another Button, another Pin that says D of H Talitha Cumi on the front, a small metal piece with some inscription of some sort on it, a Buckle type item with a Heart, a Pair of Glasses, and the best item of all, and what I believe is an Hat Pin. The top has the letter U on it. That does it for this time and it is about time. I need to get to bed and get a few hours of sleep so thanks again for looking and hope you have luck like I had this last weekend and HH to you all.[attachment 62910 PlayCoinFront.jpg][attachment 62911 PlayCoinBack.jpg][attachment 62912 IndianHeads.jpg][attachment 62915 WheatField.jpg][attachment 62916 Misc..jpg][attachment 62917 HatPinFront.jpg]

I had to post them on a separate Posting. I found 7 Indians and it turned out to be 84 Wheats due to the Canadians, and others. Good Luck and HH to you where ever you go during the week Rick.

Now get this! There is so much stuff here that I decided to head back to my sisters and head home early. On the way back to the vehicle, I found a couple Wheats and a Merc and I said to heck with it and just turned the machine off since I would have been there longer than I wanted to be and I was already getting a bit tired and also my pouch was getting heavy carrying all that Loot. I just hope to be able to get Rick to the site before it gets cleaned out any more. Thanks for the response Jon and see you at the meeting on Friday. Good Luck and HH!:detecting:

I was hoping to return this weekend but I am not totally sure if I want to wait until Rick(ND) can tag along or if I should work it before someone else finds this spot. Funny thing is, it is right there, out in the open, and not one Plug until me that I could see. Someone has hit it though looking for the Silver in the past since there should have been more Silver but there is more there waiting for a return trip. Thanks again and Good Luck and HH to you on your next outing.
