Usually keep the coins together until the end of the year but going to seperate them now. I'm sure I'll find more or at least hope so but here is the tally so far!! Not a great year for older silver, but many places I hunted only dated back to the late teens/early 20's! Totals are:

3 Walking Liberty(16-S, 41-D, 41-S)
2 Barber Halves(94-S, 06-D)
7 Silver Washingtons
3 Standing Libertys(18-S)
1 Barber Quarter(0:geek:
34 Silver Roosies
60 Mercs
10 Barber Dimes
3 Seated Dimes
9 War Nickels
1 No date reale
133 Silvers

Add another 627 Wheat Cents(09-5:geek:
56 Indians, 3 Two Cent pieces, 2 Shield Nickels, 7 "V" Nickels, 21 Buffalos to boot!!

Terrific Jack,
aren't they something?

Only thing is that you should have that Standing Liberty Quarter (191:geek: in a 2x2 holder so it doesn't get any scratches on it. And those Seated Dimes look to be in nice shape too. Anything that is worth a few bucks or in High Grade should be put into 2x2's so the value and the appearance stays like it was when it was lost. Very well done this year. I think I will be posting my totals soon also since winter isn't going to hold off too much longer up here. You have done great so far and I urge you to get out there and find some more great finds to add to that nice pile of Treasure you have found already. Good Luck and HH.:detecting:

that is a great pile of silver there!

What types of areas are you hunting in? Parks, schools, homes?

I am probably walking over silver everytime I go out with my SE. This is my first Minelab and I hear all kinds of things in the ground. Wish someone with an Explorer lived close to me so that I could learn from an experienced person rather than on my own :detecting:

find it, not even clean it but put it in a metal can until the end of year and know I've scratched a few doing this. Always try to post a year end of my finds, may have to change that for next year!

but have hit schools and a few private homes, plus a few trips to the woods and fields as well! When I first bought my Explorer, used to take a pile of coins and have the detector on and with my headset swing the coins under the coin, thin dimes, bent dimes, all kinds of coins and it helped and then I dig everything as well and find many goodies when expecting to find junk. Only way to learn and oh yes, Dad sister and nephew and a friend all had explorers bought around the same time so that does help!!

So, are you primarily air testing these different targets for practice or do you bury them in a test garden?
