I found it in CT and think it came out of one of the old summer camps because there were no battles close by or training. My wife always joshes me about the video I took on the old camera I got from Brian where I reenacted myself pulling it out of the ground.

Well a quick guess would be Spanish American war era or WWI
you need to use that as a possible barter item for the detector as well Brandon
Jap WWII 7.7 I swapped had the same barrel slide lock but yours is older then WWII,cool pc to find to
