FRIDAY November 12

God has chosen you for a great and solemn work. He has been seeking to discipline, to test, to prove you, to refine and ennoble you, that this sacred work may be done with a single eye to His glory which belongs wholly to God. What a thought that God chooses a man and brings him into close connection with Himself, and gives him a mission to undertake, a work to do, for Him. A weak man is made strong, a timid man is made brave, the irresolute becomes a man of firm and quick decision. What! is it possible that man is of so much consequence as to receive a commission from the King of kings! Shall worldly ambition allure from the sacred trust, the holy commission?

Thoughts For The Day

Dwell more on the idea of how Jesus in His humanity is able to sympathize with us in our struggles. Why is the humanity of Christ so important to us?

Drawing on the experience of someone in your circle of friends, who has faced bereavement, what are ways that you can help? That is, what can you do beyond just speaking consoling words? Are there cases where nothing else can be done other than

Amen, Martin! If we didn't have a choice, then Jesus would not have needed to die in every sinner's place! He shed His precious blood and paid sin's penalty in full that we might be saved and it is our choice to choose or not to choose Jesus as our own personal Savior when God's Holy Spirit is urging and calling us to come to Him, confess our sins and be saved unto eternal life! If predestination was God choosing Who and Whom He wanted as His good and faithful servants and saints then He would not have had to die such a horrible suffering death...this was done for every sinner's sake for we are all born sinners by Adam's corrupted seed and need a Savior! If we love Jesus and have the wisdom to know Who He is then we will choose Him and if not, then we shall be lost sinners forever, after we reach the age of acknowledgment and learn that we need a Savior, after that it is each person's choice! God said that there won't be one soul lost that have not heard His Word or seen the signs of His existance He created in the whole world and there is no excuse nor will there be any excuse not to have chosen Jesus as our own personal Savior, Lord and Master! Forced love without choice is not love and God wants each of us to love and worship in Spirit and in Truth and to believe in His beloved Son, Jesus! Amen! Ma Betty
