Thursday's CW finds...Sigh. Not a big day

Well, went down to Kentucky on Thursday. I found my largest piece to a 12 lb artillery shell, which I am excited about. I just wish that I didn't live 4 hours away from this site, or I would be hunting a lot more often! The small square nails were abundant down here, and I included 2 in the upper right hand of the picture, as the Omega is great for finding these also! The bullet in the lower left corner is not CW era, but included it anyway.

Monte, you are right! I am happy that I found what I found. It produced less than "normal" but then again, I had to get back into "relic mode" and mindset down there, and forget about what I do when I coinshoot, as the signals, and the sounds to "listen" for are totally different in my opinion between the 2. Maybe I should have purchased a T2, but for now, I am banging away with an Omega and loving it! I was so happy that I found that piece of the 12lb artillery cannon shell. It was a constant sweet ringing 99 on the ID (probably due to the size of the fragment) but it was a solid 11 inches down (my digger top to bottom is a measured 12 inches). Once again I am super happy, but with the 105 heat index with the heat and humidity, it makes me long to be back in the great Northwest where I lived for 10 years!

I am still learning how to separate the relic hunting modes from the coin modes and the sounds and experiences that come from both. In looking for old iron (like the fragment piece) I ended up digging over 40 CW era iron nails (from 1/2 inch to 2 inches long) as the Omega seems to love these nails! We had to leave a field that had been recently planted also, so I found the shell fragment and the bullets in the area between the muddy corn field and the fence 10 feet away. The other problem is the tall tall tall grass, and learning to detect in and out of grass clumps, along with the biting flies crawling all over you. :veryangry:

jensman86-I tried to send you a message, but you have it blocked, so I can't. UGH. :ranting: Oh well, send me a text or message and maybe we can hook up sometime and go hunting! I was hitting the Perryville area.

Sorry man i just signed up on the website im no sure how to use everything yet but my email is jensman86@yahoo.com

That's alright jensman86. You might actually want to send others a message or 2 also. I have done this already, and have learned ALOT from my messages/emails between others "offline" :twodetecting: Others are helping me to learn and giving me tips and hints too. I will email you shortly.:clapping:
