I generally use my sunray 8 inch because i like the less weight (im a wuss) and the less noise while in use. Im sure i missed a few targets not using the 10.5

Whats are you guys general purpose coils?

This is what it looks like before a make-over.

I hunt many different area: Beach, Fields, and Parks. but most of the time I use a big coil....10 and up.
 
WOW....doesnt that go "bonkers" in a semi trashy to trashy area?

Here is an after.

When I find areas with that problem that is when I switch over to the Minelab 10 or Coiltec Platapus. Depending if I am in the water or land.
 
Hey stoopstroop......the Coiltek Platypus is an excellent coil for reducing the interference from trash in trashy areas. I use it for both coin and jewelry hunting as well as relic hunting. Sharp, crisp, and well balanced it's an all around good coil for the Explorer.
