Tiffany & Co silver ring find today

Magyar

New member
Slim pickens continue at the badly sanded in beaches here, but this morning I did manage to recover a " PLEASE RETURN TO TIFFANY & CO " silver ring from about a 10" depth in that sanded - in ocean floor.

The ring was down there for quite some time , I think; it was very tarnished and encrusted.

Electrolyzed it and got it clean.

It's a good weight for a silver ring, I think

As to the ring's authenticity, I 'm almost sure , after doing some research on bogus T & C rings, that this ring is authentic, but I'm not a jeweler so I could be wrong.

Tiffany's web site sells this ring new for $175.00......do some people actually pay that exorbitant amount of money for a silver ring??????:look:

anyway, here's some pics

thanks for looking

Yes, I'm sure there is a lot of jewelry out there...this is another old beach , and I have found many rings and old coins there.

Exact replica.....I think the deciding factor would be the weight of each ring and maybe the quality of the stamping.

bracelets, lockets, necklaces, cufflinks with that logo...

I think it's a "take -off" of other Tiffany jewelry that comes with a particular number that identifies the owner and if one finds an item that has a number on it ( for example..52467) then the item can be traced back to its owner by Tiffany & Co if the finder contacts the Co with the info.

This particular ring has no such number, and the directive to "PLEASE RETURN...." is just the style of many pieces of the jewerly that are stamped as such.
