I was hunting the edges of a local soccer field today, not having much luck apart from finding a few coins. I was just about to leave when I got a pretty strong signal in the upper 70s on my AT-Pro. I'd dug up enough bottle caps for the day and almost passed this one by, but it turned out to be a very thin silver ring. I guess you just don't know what's under the ground until you dig it up!

It's true that you never know 100% for sure what's under the ground until you dig. I continue to be surprised at a signal I felt sure was a particular coin or jewellery piece and it's something entirely different. A coin spill can give some strange signals sometimes when they are stacked together and of course what you think is a ring pull can turn up a gold target sometimes!!! Nice ring:thumbup:

It just shows that they can make silver rings out of them nasty bottle caps. Do you know what they make out of pull tabs? Yep,, gold rings. A nice find to make your day. Be happy... KEN from Ind.

Ahh! I keep considering the AT pro as my next land machine but then I remember how often it gets fooled by bottle caps! I wouldn't be able to stand it. Good find, keep digging my friend.

what machine have you found that doesn't get fooled by bottle caps. I use the t-2 and they read like quarters all the time.

Pulse machines never read bottle caps as coins. However, they will read bottle caps like a big gold ring. I've been searching for a coin shooter that wouldn't get fooled by bottle caps, and recently I've been experimenting with the TDI pro, using Reg's settings as a start. I'm actually really, really happy with what I've been finding. It's actually the first time I've been finding more coins than junk targets on land! Now, screw caps are a different game, and can give a coin signal. But I believe there are ways to sniff them out by adjusting ground balance and pulse delay just right. Anyways...back to the OP's post...nice little ring! The honker is just around the corner!

Hey Ken
I was wondering why I haven't heard from you re. purchase of your Vaquero that you are offering for sale. I have emailed you twice with no response. Is there a problem? Please let me know. Thanks OG
