TIP TO SAVE VALUE DETECTING TIME

Every one sees political campaign signs laying along the roads.Pick up a couple .Cut them into approximately 12inch pieces.YOU can bed the tops and tie a piece of orange surveyers tape on to it.Easy to see.I use 24 for my self. Look at your arm swing with detector to use for spacing. The first thing I do when I get to where I am going to detect is:Step off 12 rows, then I go to where I want to end the row,try to square my shoulders with the row I just put in and try to match up.When you work the rows only pick up the first row pins you put in.That way you can continue on down the by extending to a third row with the 1st row pins. This system could almost double your detecting time. If you miss something,so what, look at all the ground you covered and know you did.You can always come back and do it again. Also it it is a very good system if you happen to find a good spot in the area and mark it with GPS setting. The image to the public is also good,Makes it look like you are supposed to be detecting there.I hope this helps some one ,it did for me.

Jim Instead of using the metal rods, save the chopsticks when you go out for dinner and use them with different color tapes. The represent the rows or corners

I don't leave them there,I gather them up and use them where I am detecting

I don't think I said ANYTHING about getting lost or don't know where you are.I'll try again.Usually they call it griding a field. You lay out a rows instead of a grid so you walk in a straight line and not sway to one side or the other. When you finish that area move a little further down the line, that's it.The GPS mention was in case you were in a large field or so and made a good find and wanted to pinpoint it in case you came back at a later date. That's it ,hope you get what I'm saying.
