i am trying to figure out what the best size coil would be to pick up a zinc jar lid, approximately 4" in diameter at 3 ft. deep, useing a pulse detector. i would like to keep the coil as small as possible, for better manuevering. i am useing a cs7umd that i would to build coil for. any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks, mark

What is the maximum range now on the object with your exisisting coil ?? What is your exisisting coil size now ??

i only have 10" coil on the cs7umd. reads approximately 24", not measured, air test only. have basic specs to build 20" coil, just not sure if that is big enough to do what i want. just trying to get opinion on preferable size before i waste time building coil. thanks for any input. mark

I thought I would be able to give you a good idea on the dia. to use. I just can't make out the sizes real good on the chart Eric gave me.
It looks like between 15" and 18" should do it.
