Thanks for your reply but what else can you tell me about the F4. Dislikes, likes, why you changed metal detectors, etc.

The machine is lightweight, has a very accurate ID, multiple tones, and just two 9v batteries with long life. I had the 11" DD coil on mine, and was impressed with it.

I found a used F5 that was within my price range, and wanted to try that machine. I like it even more than the F4 because it has more features. It gives a constant readout of the ground balance phase and of the machine's ground balance setting. I use the stock 10" elliptical coil on the F5

I am sure that either machine will do well in the right hands. Just depends on your budget.
