here's pic of Ma in her younger days...... will post a newer pic of me when I am able to do so.....but this will give you an idea and, of course, I haven't changed a bit over the years that have passed so quickly! Time waits on no one! :)

I am almost 74 years of age in a few months, as I was born in the summertime! Cliff and I were raised on a farm until he left home and I graduated from high school in 1953. My ex and I were married in 1955 and divorced in 1988! I have three children....Susan is 53, David is almost 50, and my youngest daughter is Tami, 40, which was like starting all over again! I used to Crochet, embroidery, sew clothing, do smocking and etc, as many women my age did back when and then in the fall of 1980 my ex purchased a White's Coinmaster and started
MD,'ing and, of course, I wanted to do it, also....soooo purchased another detector for me and more later!

I had been detecting until just a few years ago when my health deteriorated until I was sick too often....but I loved the hobby and still miss hunting for the lost treasures! I have collected many things by going to garage sales, flea markets, i collected and rec bells as gifts, depressed glass and cyrstal dishes, assorted cups, and many other things....(I think me home runneth over with mostly junk) ;) I've been collecting coins for many, many years and antiques! Some were my grandmother's, my grandpa's, my uncle's and mom and dad's.....sooooo I am overwhelmed with what I have and I think I have been blessed too much!

Susan has 2 daughters, David has 1 son, 2 daughters and 1 stepson, Tami had 4 sons but 1 passed away from Infant Death Syndrome at 3-1/2 months. We took it very hard but will see him again someday! From the granddaughers and grandsons, I now have 7 great-grandchildren; therefore, you can know why I am feeling my age! Whew....life has been difficult on the farm and during marriage and after the divorce, but Praise God and Thank You, Jesus, and Holy Spirit for your loving guidance, provision and protection over me for my overcoming all things! Amen!

With my brother with me, I seem to be the caregiver now because of his illnesses, but God is with me and him, for there is nothing too hard for God to do by helping me to endure and overcome what lies ahead for Cliff and me and my children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, for although life might be a bed of Roses, there is plenty of thorns on those Roses! But we have Jesus! :)

Okay, my pic is for just some humor and will try and get another pic of what I look like now, sometime later! This Computer gives me fits and I get confused too easily!  God Bless! Betty

cameras back then ?? :) I can say that because I'm not much younger. A good history of your life Betty, the Lord is with you every step, Steve in so az

Thanks and yes, Steve, they sure did have camera's( the old box type) and also even before then, as I'm not old enough to remember the ones that you had film plates in, had your head covered and then pulled a cord for a Big Flash! I have pics of my great-grandmother and great-grandfather, and one of my grandmother--Katie Ann, Aunt Grace, Dad and Uncle John! Those were really hard times...My great-grandfather was in the Civil War and very difficult living for both Dad and Mom's family growing up! We have it good compared to them and most don't appreciate what we do have and too many don't thank God nor give Him and Jesus praise for their blessings! The same as our children should thank us for what they have and what they get! You look better than me for our ages! :) God Bless! Betty

Thanks for the post Ma. The Senior generation has alot to teach the younger generation, if they will just listen. At 52, I am still looking to those who are older than me for wisdom. I can learn from their experiences in life. We should all be willing to pass on life experiences to those coming up behind us. Keep up the posts, and don't worry about the picture, we can wait.

God Bless, Doug & Joan

Thanks DK! But you know history keeps repeating itself, for as the oldest generations pass on....the youngest generatons forget, especially when the school books and the Liberal teachers and professors teach wrong and with their thoughts, which aren't always the truth! We didn't have all this nonsense when Cliff and I went to school and I praise God for the teachings we did receive of reading, writing and arithmatic! No bad language or filthy talk like there is today in the schools and playgrounds or trouble from the faculaty unless we did wrong ourselves! God Bless! Betty

I know what you mean Ma. I work in the local school system, and the things the kids are allowed to say, and the way they are allowed to dress is far from even what it was like for my generation at their age. This world is going down hill fast, but the Bible says it will. We just need to continue to pray for them and set the example, and try to win as many as we can to Christ.

about two months old! Neat pic. Now let us see a more recent one! :)

Hey, Greg, maybe you need glasses to read the posts, as I've said many times on here that he is my brother! In the stores, I try to tell the cashiers that he is my brother, so they won't think we are living together without wedlock! Very innocent situation indeed! I don't intend to ever remarry, unless God tells me plainly that I should marry a certain man....but I'm better off without one at my age....have Cliff to take care of and he is enough! God Bless! Betty

I am only 31 but I am here to learn all I can from the older generation. Nice picture by the way. :pulltab:

Oh me son, you are a long way from being an experienced older generation....you've just begun living life to it's fullest. But yeh in MD'ing and places to hunt you are experienced! I was thinking about the older generations' play and camp grounds and old swimming holes! You aint that old, yet! God Bless! Betty

Experienced, I meant as a digger!

I think you all are great already. I have only been on here for 5 days you treat each other like family. I think more people should do this and the world would be better.

This is a great place!

Thanks 7centsworth.....When a person is a new creature in Christ, they have His love in their heart and help spread His love and gospel! I love Jesus with all my heart, soul, spirit and strength! I would not still be living, if it had not been for His protective and caring love many times! God Bless! Betty
