Hello,i've been readin' up on pi units in the det.classroom.I'm in s.w.florida,no black sand etc. Sounds like the Aquastar is top dog.I've heard a lot of good about the cs7-would it be like next down the ladder from the aquastar? Where does a unit like surfmaster pi fit in? I'm talking about small gold at the greatest depth. Also ,it sounds like discrimination does not function as advertised,a fiend of mine[by email]says he can mentally discriminate small iron out and even tell other info.by sound with his cs7-any other thoughts along that line? I have a cz20 now and hate to lose al control of deciphering whats down ther. Thanks MR.Bill and everyone. chuck

Excellent information, just what I was looking for.The discrimination I was refering to is on the seahunter mark II Garrett advertises "standard discrimination and discrete elimination.Do they function as advertised?

Last year I had a chance to use a new Garrett Seahunter Mark II for a few weeks. Although I was impressed with the unit overall, discrimination was not one of it

I have head only good about the headhunter so far.I know every detector has it's up and down side. What ar the esp. good and the notable bad points with this unit? And in identical [say white wet, florida salt sand] conditions , if the aquastar is able to clearly sound off on a particular gold ring at a particular depth-say 16"? class ring, how deep would you expect the headhunter to go on the same exact buried ring? now how about[for my mental comparison] the SEA HUNTER mark II and my cz20? thats it! thats a lot,I know and I am truely grateful for your help in my decision making process! chuck

I am always impressed with your answers Bill. You try so hard to be as honest as you can with your answers...almost to the point of hurting yourself. BUT trust me on this you do not hurt yourself as most all of us realize your are doing you best to answer the questions very accurately.
You are appreciated.
Frank

I hope you really do know how nice it is to ask a question and get a truthful answer-instead of one based on "making a sale" I have had both kinds of answers, yours seem to be about[perhaps we could add Al in here] the only ones that are staight forward and exceptionally knowledgeable! Thank you VERY much. chuck
