Met up with five new friends and took a buddy with me. About 80 miles from here, left at 6:45 am and got home at 9:40 PM. We hunted 3 celler holes, one vacan't lot where an 1800's house used to be, and three 1800's yards.
Here is the crew!

Here are two of the houses we hunted.

My best coins finds were 3 wheats, a 1940 Canada cent, and the 1898 Indain, and the 1899 Barber dime came out of the same hole.

Here are the doo-dads. The best one is the 1917 dog tag!

Great Hunt Mike! I really like finding the old coins but I especially enjoy finding things like the #4 1917 WaterLoo Twp bell. Finding things that link us to our past is always of special interest to me.

Well, you did better than me!! I dug for about an hour yesterday and only got a quarter and a couple of old buckles. One looks like it could be brass, the other looks newer, like it was machine stamped. The house I hunted was my next door neighbors 1890's farmhouse. I haven't yet found an old coin over there, only a silver Rosie.

That dog tag is cool. Sounds like you guys had a great time.

What a great time for you all. Love those old dog tags. As yours is a township I'll bet it's worth more, steve in so az

Wow, what a day of friendship and :detecting: ya all must have had! I always liked it when our club members got together for a monthly hunt and the Spring and Fall Club Hunts! Just better to have someone with you and really nice to have a bunch with you! :) Congrats on the nice old coins and I sure like that 1917 Dog Tag! Relics are always neat finds! May God Bless! Amen! Ma Betty

Like the dog tag! I found one not too long ago from back in the 40's and happen to know the man who owned the dog that lost it (it had the owners name and address on the back). Thought that was pretty cool. :)
