Todays bush hunt!

No silver this morning and in fact, targets were few. Dug 2 Memorial cents, 4 nickels and 2 dimes. 2 of the nickels, however, were V's. Have them soaking and don't know if they will show well enough in a picture, but I can make out the dates. 1 is an 1899 and the other is 1901. It has been a while since I have found a V nickel and then get 2 in one outing. I just know there are some Seated coins on this site. Don't get me wrong, I am not dismayed over the older varieties I am finding, I just feel there are still some even older varieties hiding. A hunting buddy and fellow club member just emailed a picture of finds he recovered yesterday morning from the woods site. He hit a nice older coin spill. He got a 44 Walker half, 45 Washington quarter, 42 war nickel, 11 wheats and a couple of clad nickels. Take care everyone. HH jim tn

Wow you realy got yourself a hot spot, cant wait till I find my first V. Couldnt get out today,to much rain...hh rick in mi.

Best I could do with the picture of the 2 V's. They are close to toasted, but there are dates. Still had the 11" dd coil on the LTD and bp mode, sen 85, disc 0 and 3h tones. Both of the V's were 4-5" deep under another 4-5" of dry and wet leaves. Vdi was bouncy on both, 27-34 with more 30's then other numbers. Both hit with mid and high tones. HH jim tn

No I haven't yet. I think they have pretty much taken on the color of our reddish soil, permanently. HH jim tn
