Went back to the old mine site where I'd found a half dozen old
lincolns before. Pictured are a 1917, and a 1926d lincoln. A 1900
indian head. A 1888 V nickle (badly worn) And another load tag.
This makes my 3rd indian head, 2nd V nickle, and 3rd load tag.

Thanks Adam, I think this is an interesting site and theres
probobly 40 acres of ground to cover. More than enough for an
old fart like me to cover in my lifetime.

The mine started in about 1910 and was an underground mine. A miner
would load an ore car and put his tag on it. The car would be
pulled to the surface, at that time by mules or horses. The miner
whose tag was on it would get credit for loading that car. According
to an old newspaper article I read a miner at that time would make
about 5 or 6 dollars a day. So far I've found tag numbers 6, 168,
and 366.
