Today's F75 LTD Finds. A super rare button!

Excellent finds. A big congrats to ya.
 
Approved and authorized February 11, 1847, this regiment was organized for and during the war with Mexico. At the end of this war was disbanded August 25, 1848 at Fort McHenry, Maryland. Only in service 18 months.

They had a surplus on those buttons so the state of Virginia bought them and issued to their militia units. I have one that came from a campsite of the 57th Va Inf. The unit that 2 of my family members fought with in the Civil War I pretend one of them dropped it and that's why I found it.
 
Mine came from a house site here in NC. Never know what group it came from. Thanks for the information.
