OH- Wellll, they be better days, did a corn stubble field, last year I got some good large cents, but looks like that was all I'm gonna get for a while , farmer a plantin it already

Yea, that's pretty much the kind of stuff I was getting in this field I tried
doing a few days ago, and like you I realized it had just been planted. Had to get
out of there.
There's this cross in a country road near me where there used to be a little town. It
had a little school, now long since torn down, a store and a waiting platform for people
catching the Interurban train going west; three old churches and several houses. With the
exception of two original homes, everything else is gone. Now there are a few old trailers
and corn fields. I have permission to MD there but so far I've found only iron junk and railroad
spikes. Bummer.

Any old ties or where they have burned them? Look for date nails as they are collectable.
