Weather still held off today, suppose to Snow tonight, but be back up to 50 by next Wednesday?
Casing has U.S.C.CO and number 18 on end, and small pin through firing pin area. Strange. <img src="/metal/html/confused.gif" border=0 width=15 height=22 alt=":?"> Rosie first I have found next door, bracelet next to dime. Round piece of metal, I believe is band for poultry. HH
 
united states cartridge company and the date, i believe lil buddy. nice finds, good luck trying it today lol.
 
Don, I use a Nikon Coolpix 4500 to take pictures and IrfanView to resize and post the pictures.

This afternoon I posted to Don in canada about silver coins with fine scratches on them. Its kind of long but it may be helpfull for you.

Showed your photo to a gun nut friend. He says when reloading cartridges, there is something he called the decapping pin that pushes out the old primer or something. Sometimes it gets caught up in there and when it does, he said you just throw it away with that pin sticking out. he says it looks like u.s. cartridge company, 30-06, not military probably. Hen also says if you can show a picture of the end he can tell you for sure, also the decapping pin would be steel, not brass or anything else.
