Broke out the detectors today and did a little hunting with my neighbors, A good time was had by all. We found .50 cents in clad and a bunch of trash. We all took turns digging.. The nice thing is that we cleaned a bunch of trash out of one of my favorite places to hunt (front yard of the building we live in). Down side is that we broke a brand new digging tool.
Later at the park I met another local MD'er, He used a prospector machine, while we spoke he pulled .12 cents in clad and a few pop tabs. He had a neat technique for pinpointing I had never seen.. His machine is a motion / no-motion. when he got a tone he liked he would reach under his coil and place his finger on the ground, he then removed the coil and proceeded to dig. He had great luck with this method, particularly near trees..
All in all a great day for detecting in my opinion
