Grabbed the Omega this morning with the NEL Hunter coil on and hooked up with my hunting buddy Chris. We obtained permission a week or so ago to hunt a spot that is close to some Civil War activity. Our last hunt there with other detectors was fairly productive so we decided to hit it again.
As you can see, not a lot of targets were dug, but I did manage a nice 1917s S L quarter type 2 in decent condition. It was about 7" deep very close to a pine tree root and thus has some stain on it. Along the way I managed some curios, 7 wheat cents, of which, some soaking is needed, but 2 are 27 and 28 dates, a hefty 3 ringer and a round ball and right near the end of the hunt got the well worn sterling what appears to be scout ring. The Standing Liberty just happens to be my 100th silver coin find for this year. My hunting buddy scored some wheats and a toasted V nickel. All in all, a very enjoyable outing and it was a nice reminder that the Omega really does love silver. HH jim tn
