What a gorgeous day to be afield. Started out in the mid 30's, but by the time I left the woodlands it was 53 and on its way to 64 here today. No silver again today, but dug a nice variety of targets and did get a couple of older coins. The well worn V nickel is a 1902 and the 2 wheats are 1916s and 1926. I love digging old lead and got 6 pieces this morning consisting of 5 different sizes. I wish the toasted jack knife had been in better shape as it was pushing 9" deep and probably has some age to it. My Pro pin pointer was within an inch of being level with the top of the hole and I still couldn't see the knife, but could feel the the vibration of the pin pointer. Also got 2 pins of sorts. The one with the 3 sparkles was 4" + and appears to be of an older type. The Rutherford B Hayes Presidential Cracker Jack coin was dug yesterday. F 75 LTD with 11" coil. Have a great new year everyone. HH jim tn
