Todays Hunt!

Sweet! I love those Walkers. I've found 4 of them but haven't hit one in a couple of years now. I've been craving some BIG SILVER lately too! Nice find.

Kevin Great walker. Where did it hit on the screen? Did it sound like a large penny or a tin can. Just curious, I found 2 last year and they both hit different.

Thanks everyone for the comments! I hunted for about 2 hours at a Jr. high school the ground was frozen and it was very cold so I hunted with only the top right corner notch out I know that if I hunt this way I could be missing a lot of good keepers but like I said the ground was frozen (me too) and I did not bring a jackhammer. The half dollar was down about 8 inches. My gain was on max (10) and had My sensitivity on manual at 27 I was using the Explorer II with black widows headphone. And the sound was VERY sweet.

Sure is sweet when you see big silver like that coming out of the ground. I found 4-5 halves last year and one of the club guys found around a dozen halves. Barber, Walkers, and the rarer find Franklins. When I got my explorer xs, I tried a vacant lot that is next to where I live (due to finding a Walker with my Bounty Hunter Big Bud Pro Select 220-D the year before), and I was amazed that when I went back with this new detector that there were 2 Barber Halves in the same hole, in the same location of the previous Walker. Has anyone else pulled 2 Halves from the same hole? Anyways, Nice finds and by the way, is the medallion made of silver too. :clapping:

Cool.
I am biting at the bit here for the frost to leave. The new EXII came last week. I will go over all the areas I used my bounty hunter on and post pics of what was left behind. This week the snow should melt but it will be a while now since we had a hard freeze the last two days.

Regardless of what people say, including myself about finding old coins, I think the Walker is the most beautiful half dollar ever minted and a wonderful sight to see coming out of the hole. Good Hunting, I managed a rare Barber Half last year but only one Walker. All of mine have been in the 40's, can't seem to get any lower. Again Beautiful Find and great shape.

You have a Bounty Hunter!! You are up for some unbelievable finds with the Explorer-ll, that is for sure. If you have not had a different machine than the Bounty Hunter, I hope you have the finds I did when I got my Explorer XS. I couldn't find much but a few silver and Wheaties with the Bounty Hunter I had. Then the ground exploded with some Seated, lots of Barber, Merc's, you name it, I was and still am finding it all with the help of my Minelab. So good luck on the sites you know and hopefully you have the experience that I am with this unbelievable machine.

I pulled a half from a hole with the bounty huunter. Well it said .50 on the screen and when I dug it up it was 2 clad quarters right tight together. I was happy the machine wasn't lying to me. It was great at finding quarters. I only found one piece of jewelry, pic enclosed if it works right. Its is a Kirks Folley from England, woo pee
