My buddy and I headed off to some older dirt this morning that some of us had worked over pretty good a couple of years ago with a variety of detectors. Not sure about Chris, but this was my first time on the spot with my F 75, any version.
Chris set the tone for the day hitting a 36 Merc. ten minutes out from my SUV. We both hunkered down and got into the slow crawl along mode. He ended up with the Merc., 1897 I H and a toasted Buffalo nickel in addition to trash and clad.
I was an hour into the hunt before I got my 1st silver, a 44 Merc. That got me going and I then got a 925 silver ring, followed a little bit later by a 1910 Barber dime and then another nice 925 silver ring and my last silver was a 40 Merc. as I was swinging my way back towards my vehicle. Also got 3 40's and 50's era wheat cents along with a toasted watch case and a Yale lock.
1 curio came to light in what might be a fob of some kind. On the front is a ship and around the edges are three rope and anchors. On the top is the wording "feasible and worth the money". On the rev. are two words and the second is Chicago. Can't yet make out the first word. I found nothing on it doing a quick Google. Any ideas?
I had on the 5 x 10 DD coil and in de mode, sen 75-90, (little emi near some power lines, hence the 75 sen) 90 DST, no notch and 3h tones. HH jim tn
