Todays park hunt.

A friend and I hunted the woods of one of our oldest parks today and had a great time. Temps. were in the low 50's. Over the years Seated to modern coins have been found as well as a wide variety of relics, including old bottles, and other items of interest from this spot. Nothing as old as Seated coins today, but I did get 2 silvers. One was a 43 Washington quarter and the other was a 1927 Mercury dime. Also got a 1924 wheat cent and a few other item of interest. HH jim tn

I was in a hurry and should have also mentioned, I was swinging the F 75 LTD with the 11" DD coil. The quarter was about 5" deep and read a nice 83-85. The dime also locked on well, reading 75-76 and was 6" deep. My set up was disc. 4, sen. 85, B P mode and 3 and 4h tones. HH jim tn

Nice finds, and made a light bulb come on in my head, I never thought about the woods in the park.

Congrats. on the finds.

There is a wooded area in an old park I'll try with the 5" coil before the poison ivy starts kickin...

Nice finds Jim, 2 silvers is a good day. Thanks for the pictures. Randy

The token is a 1/2 fare for a child 5-10 years old from Council Bluffs. Late fall and winter is when we hunt this wooded area, too HH jim tn

Great hunt, Jim!

Agree with Ex-Sox, that Camel is a really cool find - that is the "humpin' to please" logo that was used by the "Campbell 66 Express" freight trucks.

Not sure if the company is still in business, I haven't seen one of their distinctive trucks on the highway in some time.

Thanks guys, I knew there was something familiar about it after I got it cleaned up and saw it was a camel and the 66. I wonder as well, marcomo, I don't recall seeing their trucks for some time either. Thanks again, HH jim tn
