From the land of the Bluenose.....as you can see swishing is still a no go here in the land of the Bluenose! This particular spot is one of my least favourite ones to do. If you can look closely you can see a line of boulders that make their way down to the water. This is a public boat launch right next to the swimming area. Had a conversation last summer with the life guard, nice fellow who related to me that a lady had hired a diver to check to the right of the boat launch area for a lost diamond ring. Two seconds later I was in a swishing and up to my butt in a fine sucking muck that put a scare in this ole bouy. Some glad I was in my regular swishing outfit of sneakers and cut offs. Won't make that mistake again as I should have asked having never ventured to that part of the small park. Lesson learned!
As for the swimming area, the bottom is covered with silt, rocks and sunken tree limbs which make retrival as hard as getting a bone from a starving dog...Lord love a duck! Place does have a saving grace as a land dig is easy with sod over soil. Have taken a few gold rings from here but nothing exciting. The local "sailors" too have a habit of running a little too fast for the area as swimmers abound. Lake is also subject to the itch...but I do it as a matter of course as it only 15 minutes from home.
