I got out with my detecting buddy today and did some searching around a river side recreational area where lots of summer activity takes place.
The area has been flooded many times over the years and some areas we hunted around were under as much as 20' of water during flooding conditions.
I believe there are some old coins here, but they may be too deep to detect.... we were finding clad and memorial pennies 6 to 7 inches in the ground and some of these were state quarters.
It was fun finding these targets down that deep and it was a learning experience as far as analyzing signals and judging depth.
On this hunt I was using my X-Terra 50 with the 10.5" DD med. freq. coil.
This setup sure is a quarter magnet and although the quarters have been thinned out due to previous trips, we still managed to rescue a few more.
I also managed to find the little silver ring in the photo.
Sure would like to the the new dollar coins get into circulation so there would be more of them to find.. maybe one of these days....
Thanks for looking,
Felix
