Token people out there??

It was found in a park in the eastern part of Iowa.
about 6 inches down in a hunted out park

The Brunswick Balke Collender co. was-is? a producer of Billard and bar furnishings and opened for business in 1845.They built a factory in Dubuque Iowa in 1884.It stands to reason that this is were your token came from.It was probably produced between 1884 and 1920.This type token was popular during this time frame.Nice find.

...but that is Charles who invented the hotdog.
Your token is a hot commodity, referred to by collectors as a "BBC token. There are quite a few of them listed on ebay and on exonumia sites. All of the tokens seem to have a different name stamped on them.
Here's some info...
"The Brunswick-Balke Collender Co. (familiar to token collectors as "BBC") was formed in 1884 by a merger of two Chicago firms, J. W. Brunswick & Balke Co. and H. W. Collender Co. They manufactured billiard tables, saloon fixtures, and related accessories, and also supplied "pool checks" (tokens) for the convenience of their customers."
Nice find, Headhunter, thanks for posting!

That he was the owner of some type of saloon or pool hall.

I think this token is from a local billiard hall
there is not a single match when I search G.W. Feltman on the search engines.......several token collectors have offered $ for this token.......any ideas? on the value

Headhunter, below is a link with some information on the collecting, selling and value of tokens. Of interest, your token is mentioned:
>>>
Tokens
1. rarity of the token (the number available )
2. desirability of the token (includes historical significance, if the token is a saloon, post trader, Brunswick Balke tokens, materials such as vulcanite, increase value, etc

From the link below:
>The token is one of the many produced by the Brunswick-Balke-Collender Co., or BBC. This company was famous for its manufacture of billiard tables. Originally the John M. Brunswick Co., it went through many reorganizations and name changes as family members joined and left the firm and competitors were acquired or merged with. The company's offerings grew to include all manner of furnishings and equipment appropriate to pool halls and saloons. Sometime around 1874 they started selling tokens to businesses. They may have produced some of these tokens themselves, but many of them were produced by other companies. The least expensive tokens were those with the company's stock reverse that listed the company's name and usually a picture of a pool table. This was an effective means of advertising the BBC name as well as the local establishment. BBC also sold custom tokens without mention of their company name at a higher price, but these are not distinguishable from those of other manufacturers....
....It was exciting to find a BBC token in the wild. I knew that it had a great chance of being a South Dakota or Dakota Territory piece. Considering were it showed up, it could have just as easily be a Nebraska, Iowa, or Minnesota token. I figured that it, like most maverick tokens, would be difficult to place and figured it unlikely....<<<
Good luck, headhunter, let us know how you make out.
