Too hot to tect for this old fart. 105 degrees plus today and more coming.

Boy oh Boy! Texas is in a drought big time! All the water is dropping, leaving the boats and wharves high and dry. Early in the morning might be chance in a life time ring hunt, for an enterprising fellow.:detecting: or two!:twodetecting:

I am twenty or so miles from Uncle Willy and would like to tip my cap to those of you that live and hunt in the hot parts of this (or any) country.
My pinpointing in this dry ground is terrible. The target seems to jump and scoot from place to place as I circle the spot. It takes two hands and the weight of a full belly to shove my probe into the rock hard soil in hopes of marking the location of my pull tab or coin find.
Here on the wet side of the Cascade mountain range, we average enough rainfall during the year that we hunters simply take soft, moist ground for granted.
To those of you that endure the hard packed ground on a daily basis you have my respect.

Well, thanks to you, Uncle Willy, the bottom has dropped out here with flash floods all over East Texas. Now I can't get out-the water's flooding the streets. Thanks a lot.:punch:

Sorry to hear that bud. Wish I could send some of this to you. Hey you could water hunt. :) Going to be another scorcher tomorrow. Don't think I'm ever going to get out.

Yeah Texas has some really tough dirt. There are places here when it's hot that you can't drive a probe into the ground.
