First the shaft opening seems to be wide, going to need a shim to maintain angle. . With new batteries in the "V", it wanted to crank. Hit the second day after an Art Show. .,,, so I was about number ten.. The wider scan of the coil makes for faster coverage than a stock coil. Not as fast as the wide scan I used to use... Had a shock when ground balancing , I thought I was going to run out of adjustment with my ten turn pot.. I think the 8 by 11 GB's better possibly tighter than stock(?)r... For fields and large lawns, there is something to be said for this coil...less gapping...Since our man in Minnesota mentioned high grass holding the coil up, same problem with the CS coil, I had more problem with drag.. This area has been pounded. I was digging brown nickels, black dimes, and quarters that were missed.... In one area where there was "high" grass and in a hole, out popped a silver dime with a screwed up date (Roosevelt)..I haven't done air comparisons, but the machine handles as well as with the stock coil ,but covers more ground. I have several places that I'll use it at.. Remainder may need to try another small coil. The Roosevelt was on edge(?).. So if you have the money, large areas with possible older items, the 8 by 11 would be my choice. Same areas, less possibility of deep items the Clean Sweep coil....I haven't been to two yards that should have old items ,and a fair amount of trash . I spent two hours fighting the flying vampires of Summer.. I think half the coins I found were due to the extra coverage of the coil, the Roosevelt sure was. One of the "before me Th'ers" left a very highly visible toupee of grass on the ground... And less than six inches away, a black quarter about 2 inches deep.???
