It's that time of year again when I begin to make the switch from beach to land hunting. There's still a little good beach left, but now the old shcool yards, homesites, fields, and woods are calling me again. At the beach I pretty much use my Sovereign Elite, preferring it slightly over the CZ. So the CZ has been hanging on it's hook for some time now.
Took it to a very well pounded site today that has yielded a lot of silver in the past. The last few times out there I was lucky to find a wheatie, with either the CZ or the Sovereign. For some reason, the CZ was hot on it today though. I hot an area I've hit at least 50 times over the years. The targets are few and the iron is heavy. But with the 10.5" coil and a slow careful sweep, I managed a few good finds in about 2 hours of hunting.
Pictured are a '57 Rosie, a '43 quarter, a '41 Merc, a '37 Buffalo, an 1880 Indian, and 8 wheaties. Here's a shot of the group, right out of my pocket when I got home.
