Tried to get the golden to do what was in the video-like almost notching out the beer tab but still get the nickle.
wouldn't do it-what ever it did to the tab it did to the nickle. .
This thing gives so many grunts it will drive you nuts.
I ignored everything and just listened for clean coin sounds and this is what I got.
that is a little kids copper bracelet and two Quarters -1966 and 1970.-no wheat pennies and also I can notch out some zinc pennies but not others.
It will notch out a 2007 zinc but not a 1990? Also something else
With the disc knob all the way down and the notch switch set to wide and the notch control set to middle-test a nickle and you will get a nice clean tone.
now try a dime-same thing nice clean tone. Now put the dime behind the nickle and face the nickle towards the coil----nothing-not a peep,no matter how close you get to the coil.?

There are a lot of different types of modern pull tabs. Some will discriminate out just under nickel, some will discriminate out with nickel and some will discriminate out just above nickel. The older heavier pull tabs are not a problem for the Golden's notching. It's a real lifesaver in older areas that's loaded with them.
