Took the Kayak and the Excal out for a Spin this AM.

I was up before dawn to catch the low tide at Horseshoe Bay this morning. I went through my morning routine, let the dog out, make some coffee and feed the dog, now lets go hunting! I was half way to Horseshoe in the little red car 'Toenail' when my cellphone rings. The Princess is sick today and would I mind coming back home and taking the pooch out for a morning walk and constitutional? What's a pirate to do when he has an incredible wife who puts up with a lot by being married to a pirate like me? Turn the Toenail around of course.
My chores finished for the morning and the Princess safely tucked into bed I had to come up with Plan 'B'.
Why not take the clear kayak over to King's Point and see if all the partiers from last weekends celebration of the Non-Mariner's Race had left any loot behind. The water was nice and calm and the breeze was light so the conditions were perfect. After a nice paddle I stopped at Teddy Tucker's beach but that old looter had left nothing for BDA to find.

Onward I paddled until I came to the old reef in the center of Mangrove Bay where the barge for the band had been set up last weekend, there were over 250 boats in the bay last weekend but mostly in deeper water. A quick spin confirmed that all there was to be found were old copper spikes from shipwreck. Kewl, but not yellow metal.

Finally I headed to King's Point and found lots of ring tones in my headset but these rings are aluminium and come from beer cans.
With the tide on the flood it was time to point the clear kayak in the direction of our little Bermuda cottage. I stopped by 'Great Bear', our friends' 57' ketch rigged double ender for a morning chat but that was all for this morning's hunt.

I got some good exercise, had fun detecting and the morning was perfect! I still want to find some mellow yellow in the bottom of my scoop though, so it's off to Horseshoe Bay this evening to try and get a fix.

Good Hunting All,

BDA:cool:

I probably would never get to where I was going because I'd be too interesting what was happening below!!:wiggle:

I like it! WOW a clear kayak! great stuff BDA, the photos and finds were excellent! taken with your olympus 720? I LOVE mine but still getting the hang of it. I guess I'll have to read the manual.

...proof positive that every day doesn't hold gold, but may hide other treasures if you have an open mind to see them.

The guy I bought it from said he paid $2,400 US for it and that price checked out from a local marine supply store. (import duty is expensive here)
Check them out online by typing clear kayak into a google search engine.

Cheers,

BDA:cool:
