Took the T2 out to the school yard for another quick learning experience.

Dang that sucker is fast.

The last three times I got out with the T2 I hunted exact square footage as I had hunted previously several times with both the T2 and the G-2500. This time I slowed way down. Now we're only talking about a patch 2-3 foot across and 1 foot out from a side walk... maybe 25-30 feet long. I pulled another 27 cents out in about 1/2 hour before my fingers went numb!

ID seems to work through foil, around iron, and once I went really slow and dug a quarter about 4 inches, the read seemed a bit awkward though... when I rechecked the whole it showed another coin 79 in the same whole...another 2 inches deeper and bam there's a penny.

Now my Garretts done this before too, but not half as quick as the ID on the Tek! I'm a betting it's going to be great at the competition hunts!

Still it's talking to me as good as I feel it can, so it's off to practice a bit more before I puts my fooy in my mouth! hehehehe
Naw...that would never happen...again..hehhehhe

NOw lets go Spring ...how about a little warmer weather!PLEASE!

Awesome! What were your settings on the alien?(disc and tones) And another silly question I have always wondered about: What kind of school? High school-jr.high, or grade school? I have a grade school near me, but I swear I don't think they took much money to grade school!!! Am I wrong?

and it's not an old school either ...but it's a practice play ground! hehehehe

Today I ran the disc on 60...tones on 4 just playing around.....But I switch mostly to all metal and hunt very slowly any more. The difference between the Garrett 2500 and Tek T2 hunting the same area just spells slow down for me now. Probably a lesson well learned.
I didn't really think I was hunting too fast with the GTI but the Tek says I am....finding way to many missed targets.
Now that spells good straight A's for the Tek. But it also will bless my Garrett's hunts as it has slowed me down and put me in my place!
Oh well I'll learn all over again if I must!
hehehe

suxbux, you may think that but the answer is really just the opposite. My experiences show that I find more coins at grade schools than I do at the Jr or high schools. I guess thtis is because most grade schools will have playgrounds and such and those little buggers are always carrying their lunch money around thus when climbing around on the gym equipments thye tend to lose it. At the Jr and Highschools I tend to find more big money quarters and even jewelry, but the elementary schools are the best places for dimes and nickles. Honestly I hunt them all. I have twelve schools that I work on a regular basis just as I do the 9 or so parks that I frequent. Most these places I hunt during the week leaving the weekends open for the old homesteads and other sites I have researched that show promise. Once you work the schools to the point where you have removed most surface trash the hunting is fast and furious. I have worked these so many times that most my finds now are right at the surface...cherry picking time.

Hey Pineapple,

Have you tried my trick of hunting in pinpoint? It makes a huge cone of sensitivity to anything near the coil, over a foot away on all edges as well as beneath. I can quickly zero in on something from far away, just by going for the louder tone. Then I go back to disc and find the bugger.

It was really fast on a hunted-out playground to get onto the next target. I had to re-trigger it to keep a good balance going or it would begin to just sound all the time. But flicking it a couple times got it back in line quick.

No I haven't Ed, But I will give it a try. I am always willing to try something new with this unit. I do know what you're talking about though, just haven't tried it with the T2. Strange you should mention that though...just today as my wife and I were coming back from having breakfast out I was telling her that I wondered why they couldn't take a detector coil and make it like that of a fish finder where the smallest area would be right below the coil vice it's max depth. You know what I'm talking about? It sure would be neat if they could and man talk about getting a good view of what lies beneath man it would be awesome. ;-)

Ted, run your disc at 55 vice 60. You'll leave behind many of the pull tabs and aluminum stuff but still be able to pick up all those nickels running between 56-57.
