Took the XS for a spin.

I've started hunting with the XS after a long sabbatical. A hunt late Sunday was a picture perfect hunt just on dusk and yesterday was no different. I hunted on my favourite site (a farmers market) in the late afternoon sun. While hunting, I had a bridal party pass by in a classic open carriage pulled by 2 white horses. Having the bridal party and coachmen in full regular was a spectacular site that stopped my hunt while they passed by.
I stayed for a couple of hours and pulled up just over $7 in modern stuff, but included my favourite $1 of late, a commemorative coin celebrating a 100 years of Scouting, struck by the Australian mint. I think that they only came into circulation about 3 months back and this is the second that I've recovered with a detector. I've included a picture so that any old Scouts from overseas can enjoy and anybody else for that matter.

Hi Mick,

nice find! Is it the same farmers Market that you detected with your Garrett 1500? The scouts sign seems to be the same everywhere around the world.

Yes it is.
It's been a pretty good site to hunt. I can walk there from home in 15 mins and I've pulled up $5-600 over the last 3 years.
There are a lot of common emblems that are shared with scouts of all countries. My wife is a Joey Scout leader (6 to 8 year olds) and when she went over to Estonia with the family a few years back, she made a point of catching up with a Scout leader there and exchanged a few badges and stories.
