Took yhe 550 out today

Took out the new GTAX 550 today. Seems to be a great little machine, but found that sometimes when using the pinpoint button, there was no sound or registration on the LCD (it did say it was in Pinpoint mode though). The tone would increase when I lifted the coil away from the ground. Then when I would repeat the process, it would work. Am I doing something wrong?
PS, you were right Bill and John. I will keep the CX Plus and the 550. They are both great machines.

Super! Now you have two good machines, and if one breaks, you have a good backup. Better take your wife out for a good bite & beer. You may again, have to buy another machine in the near future <img src="/metal/html/biggrin.gif" border=0 width=15 height=15 alt=":D">.

When you pinpoint back the coil all the way off the target then press pinpoint and bring it back over the target and make sure you have the target centered. It will get better with practice.
