The cover was always on the coil when used. I used it on my Bandido II umax & Sidewinder with great results just trimimg down .There are two small hair line like cracks on topside of coil but nothing to affect the operation of the coil.You would have to look very, very hard to see. This coil has a 4 ft. cable on it. I can take PP or a USPO M.O. Thanks Tom
