Tough hunt tonight....need to vent a little.

I haven't been on this forum for a long time. Truth is...I got a little burned out on detecting, and I haven't been out in awhile. ...until tonight. Probably not the best way to get back into it.

About a year ago, there was a car wreck(roll over) and two young men died.(yes, alcohol was involved.) Anyway, the family of the driver wasn't able to find all of his tools and a pistol. I was asked, by other people in town, if I would give it a shot with my detector. So, tonight was the night.

Didn't take me long to find the main location and the edges of the debris field. The driver worked in construction and was an avid hunter/fisherman. So LOTS of ammo, LOTS of nails and misc stuff, some tools, and even some fish hooks. Even after all this time, the X-Terra and I are one. The tough part was....that although I wasn't really good friends with the driver, I did know him. I started off ok, but after a couple of hours....I just had to quit. I'll go back in a couple of days and try again....

Anyway, needed to vent a little..... I knew you guys would understand. I'll start detecting again this summer and hopefully post something more upbeat later on.

Doing favors for others kind of goes along with the hobby. It might not always be rewarding or fun, or as in your case can be a bit personal, but we do it. And good on you for it.

You deserve a nice no pressure hunt. Something just for fun.....before going back for round two.

Thanks for the support!

Second time over(probably Monday) won't be so bad. I needed some food and sleep that night.

On the other side.......
Across the street, at the school, there's a LOT of dirt moved/piled up for the new playground equipment. :detecting:
