Tracker IV Discussion

Ok wanted to know who has the tracker iv and what was the coolest thing you have found with it. Also what is the oldest coin you have found. I have had mine about 2 weeks now and still am waiting for that shiny silver coin in the hole. Oldest so far was a '66 quarter.

Hi buda24, I've got 2 of the units and love them. My best find was a Diamond (7) ring valued at $5,500, second best was a Diamond (princess cut) ring valued at $2,500 both found on salt water beaches. We don't have a lot of old coins over where I hunt, my oldest was a half penny 1915 below an old fort. Good luck with your hunting. HH regards Nugget.:detecting:

Sorry about the amount of posts, I don't know how that happened? HH regards Nugget.

NP thanx for sharin. When you found the 2 rings were you searchin for jewelry or coins. I never am sure which to search since with the dials set for coins it rules out gold and tabs. If I search jewelry I am worried bout missin coins. Kind of a catch 22.

Hey Nugget, Don't ever say your sorry about a post like that!!!! I could Read about finds like that over and over again!!!:surprised:

Hi budha24, The settings I hunt the beaches and tot lots with are as follows, sens 3 to 4 oclock or as high as you can get without the unit being erratic, disc on tone disc, at the lowest possible setting, (fully anticlockwise), I dig a lot more trash with these settings. However the loot I get more than makes up for it, somewhere in the vicinity of $20,000 to $30,000 retail in the last 2 to 3 yrs, counting coins. If you can stand digging a bit more rubbish than normal, then give the settings a go. I believe your take home ratio's will improve as mine did. HH regards Nugget.

We read that the lot where our house sits used to have livery stable on it in the early 1900s. Our house was built in 1926. After I got my tracker IV, I tried it in the back yard. Hey, it found a tag. R Mc kay, livery, 95. Boston O. It was used on a bridle of a horse he would rent. The historical society has it now.

My coolest find was a toy gun that I found here at home actually it was the next day after my wife bought it for me which was a couple of weeks ago. I went out behind the barn and dinged it. What was the cool part was that it was my wife's dad's toy gun when he was just a boy and he's in his 60's now. He grew up in the house we bought which was her late grandparents. But I think every time I ding something its cool I guess some are just better than others.
