General Rules

The Finds Treasure Forum Classifieds is for individual use only with the exception of banner advertising buyers. Those buyers may advertise their traded in, discontinued models, etc.

Individual sellers may post their normal unwanted detectors, or accessories in assigned classified forums, but they  cannot exceed (1) one item in a (3) three month period for each classified forum.

Only For Sale, For Trade, or Wanted to Buy ads are allowed.

Only Forum Members Registered for  90 days or longer that have more than 24 significant posts in our other forums, may post For Sale or Trade ads.

Rules for Non Sponsoring Sellers:

  • Items for sale, or for trade, should be your own personal property and be accurately described.
  • Your for sale or trade post should be self contained, without references to another site where you may also have it for sale.
  • Do not put links to eBay.
  • Do not put links to other forums where you may also have the same item for sale or trade.
  • Dealers are not allowed to post in Classifieds unless they are a sponsor.

Advertisements not adhering to the above rules will be deleted without warning or notification.

Trade Whites MX5 with xtras, plenty of warranty for Safari

I have a Whites MX5 not even 2 months old with stock coil, brand new D2 coil and xtra lower rod. Also have box and everything it came with. Trade for Safari, must still have at least a year warranty left. Even trade, no xtra cash. Let me know what you have! I will be glad to text pictures to your phone.

Was going to say that this would not have been a fair trade as new price of a safari is $1,100 and MX5 is not even half.
 
If we based trades on what each manufacturer wants to charge for their machine then there would not be much trading going on. Most people posting used Safaris are asking around 600 for them. That comment was unnecessary.

Yeah sorry you found it unnecessary I feta the need to comment on it as a safari owner.
 
I agree with Treasurechic and I've owned just about every higher end Minelab and traded my Quattro which is equal to a Safari when you add the Safari coil to it . I traded it for a MX5 and find it to be a very deep accurate detector and lighter to swing ... I'd keep the MX5 cause you'll find just as much if not more ! IMHO , Woodstock
 
I'm gonna point something out here,and this is no way bashing anyone,just some facts about what's being said here,and other sales and trades.

Mx5 under 500 with sponsor help
Safari new around 900 with sponsor help

How does anyone figure your holding the retail value of the mx5, and devalue the safari? I mean that's the only way you could make it a even trade.

I've dealt with treasurechic and it was a smooth transaction.And this has nothing to do with her ,or her trade.im just pointing out the obvious and wondering if I'm the only one who sees it.I see this a lot,devalue one machine with warrentys and hold another' machines retail value,when both are new with same amount of warrentys.
 
I was just looking for a straight up used Safari nothing xtra with at least some warranty so I could be sure it was in good working order with some reassurance. yes the Safari is a better machine in some ways, yes it is more money new. Thats why I knew I would need to offer more with the MX5 for it to be fair, like the xtra rod and a new D2 that I paid over 200.00 for..... More xtras with a lower priced machine for one stand alone more expensive one. I just figured maybe someone who thought the Safari was too heavy...... or someone who got a Safari and missed owning a Whites. We have a diverse bunch of wonderful people on this forum. I did no harm by placing the trade add. I only changed my mind because I realised It was time to just stick with a machine and enjoy it. The MX5 is a great machine, in my opinion. I did not mean to come off negetive but one thing those of us who truely love this hobby know for sure is you cant put a price on what we get out of it. I hope we can all still be friendly forum members. Have a wonderful weekend guys!
 
Now here's my side ... they both are great and I stand by what I said before they in my opinion can't find deep coins and other cool stuff . And I can't understand myself why Minelabs are so pricey except for the fact that they are from Austrila . And buying a used Safari not under warrenty that bites the dust is usally sold for parts rather then being robbed for shipping and repairs . So even if a MX5 breaks down out of warrenty it's not near as costly and takes less time to get back, way less .
Price doesn't always mean better and deeper, all it means is you have more money and chose to own a Safari and thats about all your saying here . So I'll close by saying " To each their own " and chose the prices savings for the same finds and proformance for a road trip . e'nuff said , happy trails , Woodstock

I miss how much fun the MX-5 was to use. Great audio and deep
