Trashy site HELP

Any recomendations on how to tackle a trashy iron/alluminum old home site? I am using the sock coil 7.5 coecentric.Just starting out(2months now).
I just ordered the 6" Digger but until it gets here, i have to make due.
Thanks

The 7.5 concentric in my opinion is probably one of the worst coils for trashy sites. You'll be good once you get a 6" coil.

Have fun!

Well, there are a few ways to approach it. The most thorough way is probably to approach small areas by layer, starting with very low sensitivity and gradually turning it up. Coins aren't necessarily deep, so the idea behind hunting with reduced sensitivity is that with sens turned up a large deeper object can hide a small good target above it. Start by determining where the area between the home and the road is and focus there first. Then break that into 3-4ft squares and work them from all directions as you ID objects. GO SLOW! I mean slow enough to isolate each hit. Some stuff might be trash that's big enough to cover/hide/mask good targets, and you might need to remove them to be sure. Good repeatable tones are most likely to be good targets, not that all are, but really jumpy ID's or broken irregular tones are usually junk.

Take a trash bucket. You'll likely fill it. Depending on size and thickness, aluminum can be a real pain. Small pieces that are thick or folded can easily impersonate a coin or other high value target. And then there are those old galvanized mason jar lids......

Yep, plenty of cans around. I like the idea of layering.
It sure is good being here on this forum.
Ive learned alot from all you Detectorists here. Very much appreciated.

Really, until youget a smaller or DD coil, working by layer is about the only way that I can think of to work a site like you describe.
