Travel Channel now has a YouTube type video area...

Pete in MI

New member
The Travel Channel is looking for people to submit 'Your Trip' videos of where you live or visit. Have looked a a couple and I think it is much nicer - and guessing they will insure no porn is on their site (which isn't a guarantee on YouTube or other sites bearing home videos).

Here is the link for information on it.

I also found that CVS pharmacies and Target have 1 Use Digital Video Movie Cameras (about $30 each) and once the 20 minute capacity of the movie camera has been reached you take it to a CVS (and probably Target) photo center and they will take the data off the camera and put it on a DVD. They you put the DVD in the computer and send your movie to the Travel Channel.

Something I also noticed and not part of what I am talking about above is that CVS also has some disposable cameras for under $15 - including an underwater one. I might get one of those to take with me when I go water detecting. (Just what I want is more to carry = but if I can get some cool water pics of fish at my feet or Sherry or someone taking pics of me in the water (and not ruining our good digital cameras) I think it would be worth it.

Anyway back to the Travel Channel, if you already have a camera and can do detecting videos for the Travel Channel - and especially with their interest in Bottle Dumps, Civil War, Meteroites, etc. who knows ya might get them to come film you in action for TV. Now that would be cool to see one of you guys/gals on TV (other than the FBIs Most Wanted).

Thought ya might be interested. Mike from MI one of these days you will get cable or dsl so you can see all those good videos out there.

We will be get into the 21st century! :)
