Tried 9" 18.75klhz concentric for xterras heres my results

Well i got the 18.75klhz 9" concentric coil i had orederd and heres my opinion for those out there wanting to use it and are curious. I went to a park i sometimes go to and normally use the stock 7.5klhz concentric coil wich by the way is very good. The 18.75klhz was more responsive to nickels and found some strange chinese coin that was quarter sized some dimes pennys and 2 quarters and some small older bus token. Perhaps this coil is better for relics. I think the depth on the 7.5klhz for coins is a bit deeper. And i would say the 7.5klhz likes quarters slighlty more because of the lower frequency. But overall the 18.75klhz worked pretty well. Will leave it on for a while and see what kinda results are made.

I own the 18.75DD 5" x 10" coil and it's outstanding on the beach! I've ordered the 3khz 9" concentric because it's suppose to be ideal for silver & copper coin hunting. For general hunting, I use the standard 7.5 9" concerntric coil and will probably continue to do so for the forseeable future. I am looking forward to using the 3khz coil though. Happy Hunting!

Hello,I assume its the concentric we are talking about ..not the 10x5 DD.
I am interested to the lower conductivity metals..ie gold.
I own a 10x5 HF DD and it rocks.
Any reports on the Concentric HF coil on hot rocks .interference etc
Maybe coverage is improved ,depth?
(I am in australia).
Thanks
Johnno

i have tried the round large DD and the small oval shaped DD on the goldfields around Elaine Victoria, i had my sensitivity set at 1 ground balanced (auto) but the machine was noisy on all swings,,the only way i could detect was with the pinpoint on all the time.
what could the problem be.

When I'm going hunting in the local parks the 5x10 always goes on. Out in the desert on old homesteads the 3KHz is the one. Ain't life grand.
