Tried my 5.3 coil

I got out for a short hunt Saturday with my new 5.3 coil and was impressd. I went to a small town's small park, maybe an acre but it's where the town setsup it's venders for the 4th of July every year. Evedently no one hunts this park because I only covered about a third of it and found 9 quarters, 29 dimes, 6, nickels and 52 pennies, I didn't think that was bad at all. It was very trashy and I had to go pretty slow but the 5.3 was very good at seperating the targets. It takes a long time to cover much ground when you have so much trash but the coil did a very good job. It was very wet and there was standing water in some places but I'll be heading back very soon to see what the rest of the ground brings.

was it affixed to? A 6.59 kHz unit or was this an Eclipse coil? I like the 5.3 BullsEye on an IDX Pro, XL Pro, and XLT, and the 5.3 Eclipse on the Spectra V 3, MXT and M6. They can do a very good job in most trashy environments, to be sure. best of success on your next visit to the park.

Motne, Monte, Monte, It was attached to the M6 you sold me. It's being used as often as possible and the more I use it the more I like it. I'm thinking of getting a 6x10 DD for it next year too since everyone raves about them and a pinpointer is on the wish list too.

I need to pick up another 5.3 BullsEye for an XLT as I generally use that coil on an XLT, XL Pro or IDX Pro, and I need another 5.3 Eclipse ('V' tuned) for use on another MXT and V3.

You might like the 6X10 as I know several other who do, but for me, the stock 950 and 5.3 Eclipse coils can get the job done. The 5.3 Eclipse worked in and around trash easier/better than the 6X10, as well as when in very brushy environments. Depth was comparable and, if anything, an edge in favor of the 5.3 Eclipse. mainly I just like the 'feel' of the weight and balance.

Glad to know the M6 is working out for you. :detecting:
