Tulum, Mexico Gives Up Cartier Style Ring

I haven't been hunting much this year due to other committments but I'm not about to retire from surf pirating anytime soon either, so when my wife and i decided to head to Tulum, Mexico on the Mayan Riviera, the Surf PI DF and scoop went in my luggage.:detecting: If you haven't visited this part of Mexico you really should, very beautiful scenery, friendly native Mayans and powder sand for miles upon miles; Affordable and Uncrowded Too!
Tulum was the main Mayan trading port on the Yucatan Peninsula and the ruins are in very good condition, Sian Ka'an Nature Reserve is a huge unspoiled wilderness just to the south and perfect for bird watching. (the beaches are topless if you enjoy the other form of bird watching):look::lol:
This trip was really about R & R but I did manage one hunt on the beach below the ruins, the chop was heavy and the break was in the Mine so I only got to work the Lane. I'm glad I had my Surf PI DF because most of the targets were over a foot deep where the soft sand met a harder shellpack.

The only gold was a triple Cartier-style gold ring set. (my wife identified it immediately and confirmed my suspicion that it is 14k white, yellow and pink gold)

As with all vacations, it was over too soon. I highly recommend a visit to Tulum if you're a traveller who's a little more adventurous.

Cheers,

it might of been too far down in a post for you to read on another forum when they asked why we use a certain call name. I replied to you that I thought

"BDAhunter" was slang for "BE DA Hunter" like using ebonics!!! That was too funny!!!!!!

Merry Christmas!

I like it Ina 'Be DA Hunter', but in reality it's just BDA (Bermuda) Hunter. BDA been very good to me! Mexico was better to me this time, for less effort than it was two years ago. Grand Cayman is my next stop in February, visiting friends and neighbours from Canada; REALLY looking forward to seeing them and hunting Cayman. (I've got to get certified between now and then as I missed out on a chance to do it in Mexico)

Cheers Luv,

Hi bda mate did you have a scratch up around those ruins i reckon they might produce some goodies.terry in oz:surprised::ausflag:

A 200 year old wreck was uncovered by a hurricane 2 years ago, somewhere along the beach I was hunting in Tulum. I didn't get any old loot from the wreck but I was torn by the idea of finding ancient Mayan gold and not finding it; I think I would have returned it to the Mayan/Mexican people if I had found something.(well maybe not but it certainly would have been a test of conscience as well as common sense) It would have been really hard to give up ancient gold so I stayed well south of the boundary to the ruins.
Mexico isn't really a good place to mess around with antiquities anyway, the Federales aren't known for their sense of humour.

Kewl,
