tweaking of compass machines

Few years ago when there was still a compass forum on the TD, some people got their compass machines tweaked for more depth.
I wonder if it would affect the smootness of operation and the excellent discriminating capabilities.

Eric, not sure what model Compass that you want to be tweaked?? I heard of this too a few years ago.....believe that it can only be done on their Scanner Series. To be sure contact Keith Wills at www.brokendetector.com I believe that he has done this before!!??.............Good Luck..........Joe

Joe is right, Keith Wills does a sens/depth mod on the scanner series. I have this mod done to my Relic & Coin Scanner and it operates smooth as silk, discriminates as good as any Tesoro I've used if not better.
