Romans 6:16 (New International Version) "16Don't you know that when you offer yourselves to someone to obey him as slaves, you are slaves to the one whom you obey ~ whether you are slaves to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience, which leads to righteousness?" What point is Paul making? Why is his argument very black and white here? That is, it is either one or the other, with no middle ground. What lesson should we draw from this very clear contrast?

Paul comes back to the point again that the new life of faith does not grant liberty to sin. The life of faith makes possible victory over sin; in fact, only through faith can we have the victory that is promised us. Having personified sin as a king ruling over his subjects, Paul now returns to the figure of sin as a master demanding obedience of his servants. Paul points out that a person has a choice of masters. He can serve sin, which leads to death, or he can serve righteousness, which leads to eternal life. Paul doesn

Great post, Martin! If we truly love Jesus within our hearts and souls we shouldn't even want to commit sin willfully and hurt God for Him to be ashamed of us! But if we do slip and sin, someway; somehow, then He is the Advocate between God and man for forgiving our sins that we've sincerely confessed, again, but it is not to be a habit, for God won't always strive with man and the ones who keep on sinning, after they've first confessed all their sins and are forgiven, He will leave them to their sinning over and over and then they will be like the dog that returns to its vomit and be lost and must do their first works over! It is not impossible to be forgiven, again, but each time anyone sins' willfully and enjoys sinning, their heart gets harder in their disobeying God and His Commandments with it being more difficult to submit their all to Him, again!
