Two Days in the Trash!

Huntin' in this local park......2-tennis courts, 3-ball fields, 1-basketball court, 4-playgrounds and a bunch of picnic tables. Been here for years......so there is a ton of trash! Pulled out the XLT...........after 30min, I put it back! Got out the Ole Explorer II with the10" coil and pulled a double handful of coins......no silver, no wheats.....but lotsa coins. Two nice pieces did come up tho......a nice silver cross (sang like a bird when it hit). Then it happened.....a questionable signal.....had my doubts, but dug anyway....up came an old pulltab. Darn! Absent mindedly filled in the hole and got up. Oh what the heck! I stabbed at it with the detector and that solid sweet sound! About an inch below where the tab was and over about an inch out popped the gold wedding band! 14k and nice and heavy! Gotta love it! hoorah Minelab!

Congrats on your silver cross and gold ring!! :clapping:

Although the Explorers are known for their abilities to find deep silver, they are more than capable of finding the gold too!!

I'm sure there's more gold to be found in a lot of parks....it's just hard to be so persistent after digging so much trash.

Nice finds. I'm going to try a 8 x 6 sef coil in the trash before long.

Those gold rings, after digging them you really makes you think.... man they had a clean and distinct tone to them. We all say well i never find any gold rings.... fact is i dont think a lot are lost in the parks so to find one is a pretty good feat. You tend to find a lot more on the beach which makes us think well we are just missing tons of them in our parks. The conditions are totally different. Cold water, more blanket time, and a whole lot more playing going on, and there isnt a lot of minerals or nearly the trash to contend with on the beach. You did good..... cha ching when you find gold now days.

Yeah.......I always had better luck on rings in Fla. used the Surfmaster PI in waist deep water. This was found between two softball fields, so I am thinking it came off when the glove came off.

Congrats on the Gold Ring and neat Silver Cross. If I wasn't finding Old Coins.....that's the kind of finds I would be hoping to make. Again....Congrats on the great finds and Continued Success, Good Luck and HH to you on your next hunt.

a great way to sniff out some hidden goodies.

Im glad your persistence paid off....congrats on the ring and cross,
