Well this afternoon I Broke the Silver "cherry" on the SE & also got a 36 wheatie & My FIRST dollar....It was only a Sacagawea but was still nice...Actually I kinda cheated on the dollar...I heard it sound off, then looked at the tip of my coil & could see it through the grass...Hey Arturo...Get that DVD ready...The next one will be comin at ya...The surprising thing about the dime (a 39 Merc)was that it was in one of the only areas in the park that didn't have tons of garbage & was only about 2" down, in a well worn path to first base in a ball diamond...go figure...One thing is certain though...I gotagetasmallcoil....& a probe, but the small coil is a "must have"... There are some sweet lookin spots that defy me...maybe it's just my inexperience with the SE...I am trying to pick out the tone & SWEAR I hear & at times See GOOD crosshairs but the trash is just unbelievable....anyway it was a good afternoon:thumbup:

Nice find tomtowns! My X1 probe is supposed to be here tomorrow and I am antsy to give that a whirl. I know what you mean about the sounds. I think I will attempt to dig more iffy signals once I get the probe.

Good for you Tomtowns,
it takes time to "know" these Explorers doesn't it?

HH Snowy :twodetecting:

:sick:But when I can't isolate a target amongst the Twist tops & pulltabs I won't dig them if I'm in a crowded park...maybe once I get the small coil & probe things will change....It's a public relations/judgement call

a little time to learn the melody...I still am experimenting a little bit...but need to slow down even a bit more...When I get to a park though & start swinging, it takes a lot of self control NOT to try & clean up on coins & instead try the different settings...THAT'S the only thing I'm finding hard to do...

Well the way things are going I should be able to order them both within two weeks...One of the areas I'm especially interested in hunting when I get them is one of the oldest parks in the area...around the pond...really infested with trash...I'm pretty sure I'll be able to pull some nice stuff from around it...From all I've read about the Explorer & probe, I should be able to ID fairly well... There is also a park across the street that has an interesting spot & I want to check it out also...It is the base of a tree with gnarly roots coming out, that seem to have encased a piece of silver, but it could be a corroded penny...If it isn't too deep I may try to chisel it out......You can see where others have found the signal & made a feeble attempt to scratch between the roots

If you heard it with the machine before you saw it, I wouldn't call it cheating -- ha ha.
